Highly automated system moves 440,000 tons of material annually
The system transports around 11,000 containers daily in three shifts, covering over 18,000 km annually—equivalent to 20 times around the earth with a total of 440,000 tons of material. The energy efficiency is outstanding: a transport robot consumes less than 150 watts during operation, ensuring maximum sustainability.
46 Servus ARC5 transport robots move on rail-bound routes throughout the entire plant at speeds of up to 4 m/s. They are the heart of the automation system and ensure a smooth flow of materials. The system seamlessly integrates the injection molding machines: finished plastic parts are fed directly from the machines into the material flow without any manual intermediate steps, which significantly increases production efficiency. There is a special solution for bulk materials: two hopper ARCs empty plastic sprues directly into the octabins under the track, which optimizes the material cycle and reduces manual work.
The complete networking of the Servus software with Hirschmann Automotive's ERP and MES systems enables real-time control of all material flows. This integration ensures continuous process monitoring, greater flexibility, and a significant increase in production efficiency.
